Jeff received his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Washington in 1983 and his law degree from Lewis & Clark College, Northwestern School of Law in 1986. He is an active member of the Oregon and Washington state bar associations and is admitted to all Federal and state courts in both jurisdictions.
Jeff has been an invited speaker for many organizations including the Oregon Medical Association, Oregon Association of Defense Counsel, Oregon Society for Healthcare Risk Management, Oregon Law Institute of Lewis and Clark Law School, and Washington Fire Chiefs Association. He has also been an
instructor for the Oregon Health and Science University Law and Medicine Class.
Jeff has held a variety of leadership positions, serving as President of four different non-profit organizations. He has also been active for many years as a youth coach and mentor. In his free time, Jeff enjoys family trips, fishing, boating, hunting and any type of outdoor adventure.
Jeff was recently recognized by the American Board of Trial Advocates as an Advocate member. He has had an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell since 1999. He has been listed in Oregon SuperLawyers from 2006 to the present, and Portland’s Best Attorneys from 2008 to the present. In 2015 Jeff was named Medical Malpractice Defense Lawyer of the year for Portland, Oregon by Pacific Northwest's Best Lawyer magazine, a peer voted award. Throughout his career, Jeff has taken over two hundred cases to trial or arbitration as lead counsel and serves as co-managing partner of Hodgkinson Street Mepham, LLC.
Last month, Hodgkinson Street Mepham (HSM) tried an interesting and complex case.
