Martha Hodgkinson has a civil litigation and trial practice in Oregon state and federal court representing design professionals, developers, contractors, real estate brokers, attorneys and public entities.

Martha has experience in all aspects of civil litigation and trial practice, with emphasis in real estate and construction litigation, defense of public entities, developers, design professionals, attorneys, contractors, real estate agents and brokers. Martha also advises clients on construction and real estate matters.
In addition to her trial practice, Martha has an active mediation and arbitration practice in construction, real estate, commercial and personal injury cases. She has successfully mediated over 400 cases since 2007, including complex, multi-party construction defect, coverage, real estate, commercial and personal injury cases.
Martha is a speaker and author on real estate, construction and trial practice for the Oregon State Bar, Oregon Association of Defense Counsel and other professional organizations. She has regularly conducted classes in continuing education for real estate and design professionals, contractors and public entities.
Martha received her bachelor's degree from Oregon State University and her law degree from Lewis & Clark College, Northwestern School of Law, magna cum laude. She is an active member of the Oregon State Bar, Oregon Association of Defense Counsel, Multnomah Bar Association, Defense Research Institute and the National Association of Professional Women. She is Past President of the Oregon Association of Defense Counsel (2004) and a past member of the Board of Directors of the Multnomah Bar Association (2010-2013). Martha was recently elected to the Board of Trustees of St. Andrew Nativity School in Portland, a Jesuit Catholic middle school dedicated to offering an academically challenging curriculum in a supporting environment to low income students of all faiths.
